Bridge Differences today !!  Our 'work world' is increasingly diverse and multi-cultural; often problems arise as a result of differences and remain unresolved.

We use group facilitation to help people find solutions to difficult situations, to improve communication, reduce conflict and bridge differences.

We also have experience in transforming workplace conflict, using a structured approach that makes sure that all voices are heard and the heart of the conflict explored and resolved.

We also use facilitation and process consultation to:

• Design Conferences

• Chair Equality Boards

• Facilitate Team Away days

• Set up Specialist Groups e.g. BME Workers groups

•Facilitate Customer Service and Team Visioning Sessions

About the Programme

The Difference at Work Dialogue Programme - was developed after running successful programmes for a number of organisations who liked the experience of 'Dialogue Boards' plus discussion and debate as a more creative approach to stimulating conversations about difference.  This day interactive train-the-trainer workshop delivers results fast, it will provide practical and easy-to-implement tools and techniques that have immediate impact, when you use them in your own work environment.

The Day Consists of Two Parts:

am - Learn from me, ask questions, enquire and get curious as I lead you through my process of leading dialogue sessions

Learn from me, ask questions, enquire and get curious as I lead you through my process of leading dialogue sessions!

pm - Experience the process yourself, numbers on the workshop are kept deliberately low so that there is enough time for coaching and learning, by the end of the day you will be confident to run a 2-3 hour session with groups or your team.

  • Lead with Confidence
  • Harness the diverse skills and knowledge of the group
  • Become comfortablewith managing difference in the training room
  • Find out what makes a good inter-cultural leader

Group Facilitation Programmes and Forums

Large Group Learning Forums

The Large Group Learning format is a facilitated approach for very large teams of up to 50 people. These group sessions have been used for team development, visioning and strategy and gathering information on the key issues of importance for the team or service. In 4 parts

  1. Pre-planning – A consultation session with the sponsor to determine aims and objectives
  2. Consultation and feedback from members of the team, developed in consultation with a small sponsor group elected from within the team
  3. The facilitated event with delegate evaluation
  4. A report highlighting the process and outcome of the event and a follow-up telephone consultation and evaluation with the sponsor or other commissioner of the event

We've had real success too in designing Learning Forums; these are large workshops that we can run for groups of 20+ (40-50 is common).  These events are a great opportunity for large teams or departments to come together and focus on current issues related to their practise or they can be used for clarifying purpose and vision, or action planning and goal setting.

We try to be as collaborative and creative as possible, we often use large graphic guides which are great because the visual element really helps to capture the thoughts of the delegates and takes attention away from just talk.

Here's me at a recent Learning Forums event, ouch!!

"The learning forums day consisted of discussion and dialogue around several key themes that was of importance to team members and the users of the service.  Sonya kept the group of 40 to task, encouraged debate and we came up with a list of next steps that people signed up to and felt they could initiate straight away back in the office.

Johanna Hunt - Assistant Manager for Effective Practise

We also run Dialogue Circles these are a great way to start debate and can also be used as a forum to facilitate teams through conflict situations, and really get to the heart of those sensitive work issues like 'how to manage different cultural value systems.

For prices for a day of facilitation for teams and group of up to 45 people please contact Sonya 020 8444 2288 to discuss your requirements or e-mail: sonya@coachingcultures.com
